The First Step (on a spiritual path)
We
are in midst of a time of deep karmic
cleansing and transformation. Some are right
in the midst of it, for others it is just
beginning. It can be like a roller coaster
and emotionally turbulent or it may come in
stops and starts, just when you think you
are through, another round starts. I see and
hear it all around me, and I have been
experiencing it myself over the last couple
of months.
The
New Age tendency has been to think one can
go through deep transformation without
having to do the work. Weekend courses
abound everywhere on how to be a healer,
therapist or whatever but it does not work
like that, there are no quick fixes or easy
ways through, these are just patch up jobs.
When we take the direction of the spiritual
path, we are called to make peace with
ourselves and others and to clear our past.
Everything has to be faced and we have to
forgive others and ourselves. In one sense
the past is past but at the same time we
have to pay our karmic debts and if we don't
then we will have to come back and do it
again next time.
We
are being offered a chance to clear these
debts through opening our hearts, dissolving
the hardness and the pain in the heart; it
is all about heart-work and love energy,
this is the call of the Divine Feminine.
The repayment can be done through
service. The whole of humanity is crying out
for help, there is so much work to be done.
It begins with each of us, in the circle
around us, in our everyday encounters with
whoever we meet. I see and feel the pain
everywhere, it cannot be dismissed and yet
most people want to turn a blind eye or not
get involved.
As an
aspirant on the spiritual path or a
lightworker what can you do, how can you
help? It begins by sorting yourself out. By
coming face to face with yourself and
everything you have created or don't like
and embracing the divine through going into
silence, into meditation, becoming so still.
so quiet that spirit will speak to you and
tell you your next step. That is all you
need know, your very next step, for after
that comes another and another. A journey of
a thousand miles starts with the first
step.
The
journey requires that we become still and
look, watch and listen, that we become a
conscious observant of everything we do, our
actions, what we do and say and learn from
that in every moment. We can move into a
state of beingness, both in and out of
meditation. Once we become familiar with
that state in meditation, we can apply it
consciously in our lives and maintain it
throughout the day. This takes discipline
and patience but then we see that we are
able to maintain a blissful and tranquil
state for longer and longer periods of
time.
We
must observe our anger, our sadness and
discontent and through bringing in the
light, again and again, we can transform it
and dissolve any negative discord. We have
to remain conscious of all our actions, not
to hurt others through word, thought or
deed, this helps clear the karmic debt and
when others hurt us, we have to forgive them
and let go, hard though it maybe. We have to
become experts in forgiveness and letting
go, releasing the karmic ties that have
bound us in the past and move on, to release
any grief so love can come in again, when we
open to it, it will come in. Through giving
out the best, highest vibrations of
goodwill, harmony and love, we can help
transform both our own karmic situation and
also what is going on all around us. As the
Dalai Lama recently send in one of his talks
whilst visiting U.S.A. We have to pay our
karmic debts, we cannot blame circumstances
or others, we must see what we have done and
then see what we can do.
May
love and light prevail on Earth.
