I’ve studied weight management for years, as a hypnotherapist since 1999 and a personal fitness trainer for nine years before that. So, believe me I have done my stuff when it comes to weight loss and know what works and what doesn’t.
Over those years what I discovered is
However, I also know that the human mind is the greatest gift we possess, and that hypnosis is the greatest tool we have at our disposal to help us-
In essence the key to successful weight loss for life is forgetting about diet and deprivation and focussing on what does work. Taking small steps towards a healthier lifestyle, learning skills to improve self-esteem, deal with emotional eating, ingrained habits and lack of motivation.
Often the unspoken agenda is helping you accept and LOVE the best and healthiest YOU you can be.
There are many reasons we become over-weight. Physiologically speaking it’s eating the wrong foods, not drinking enough water and not moving enough. With my help you will find those are easy to amend.
However, weight problems can be way more complicated than that and very often the reasons are NON-physiological. Given our modern lifestyle, stress can be a huge factor, as can lack of time to source and prepare nutritionally valuable, clean food. Then there are the underlying reasons: habitual, emotional and psychological.
Getting to the bottom of that is my gold and where I can help YOU to never be overweight again!
Our first session will follow this general format: I listen to your story, find out what you REALLY want and make suggestions for the best way forward for you. The we’ll dive straight into the treatment.
For many that double first session is enough. Nevertheless, we are all individuals, so I use a holistic approach, particularly where there are underlying psychological issues that need tackled.
If you feel you need support on a more regular basis, we’ll take things step by step together. Whatever sounds like the best solution for you we’ll decide at the end of that first hour. As a hypnotherapist, NLP trainer and fully accredited psychotherapist I have all the tools to help you in the way that suits you best.
I’ve had great success treating a range of conditions such as:
and many more so I’m pretty sure I can help you too.
Bernie and I literally had one session where we regressed to a childhood trauma around an ice-cream cone. Although something as deep as that cannot always be found at one session, Bernie herself had deep self-awareness and yes it can happen. Since we did that session many years ago I realised that often food allergies can be connected to trauma. At the time Bernie’s disappearing allergy seemed miraculous.
Eating disorders include a range of conditions that can affect someone physically, psychologically and socially. The most common eating disorders are:
Anorexia nervosa – when someone tries to keep their weight as low as possible, for example by starving themselves or exercising excessively
Bulimia – when someone tries to control their weight by binge eating and then deliberately being sick or using laxatives (medication to help empty their bowels)
Binge eating – when someone feels compelled to overeat
Some people, particularly young people, may be diagnosed with an eating disorder not otherwise specified (EDNOS). This is means you have some, but not all, of the typical signs of eating disorders such as anorexia or bulimia.
often starts during the teens, although not always. It effects both sexes but is more common than in women. You can develop bulimia if you have had anorexia in the past.
Bulimia is linked with emotional problems and how you feel about yourself. If you have bulimia, you try to keep your weight as low as possible. You will often binge eat and then try to make up for the amount you have eaten. You might do this by vomiting and/or taking laxatives. This is often referred to as ‘purging’. You may starve yourself or exercise excessively to work off the calories.
I have helped many clients with bulimia, typically building up self-esteem, re-framing body image and using Mnemodynamic Therapy –
Together therapist and client use the unconscious mind as a resource of wealth to promote healing.
